Biography from Port Huron Museum:
| Helen Langford was born March 11, 1907 in Port Huron, Michigan. Mrs. Langford''s father was a architect and shipbuilder, which no doubt heavily influenced her later artwork. Mostly self-taught, she was a graduate nurse who was principally involved in the founding of a Hospital for Mueller Brass Company employees during World War II, and was involved in expansion activities of the Port Huron Hospital in 1950''s.
A charter member of the Blue Water Art Club in 1953 (now the Blue Water Art Association), she taught art classes in at the Port Huron Museum for a number of years. While majority of her work focuses on Great Lakes Maritime subjects, she also delved heavily into portraiture, seascapes, and landscapes. Mrs. Langford passed away in 2001 at the age of 92.
