| Henry Charles Lee was a painter writer and lecturer, and he was also an archaeologist. He was born in New York City and died in Paris. Lee was a pupil of Josef Israels and George Holston. He was a member of the Salmagundi Club and the Group des Peinters et Sculpteurs Americains de Paris, the Lotos Club, and also the Society of Illustrators.
