Henry John Livens was a direct descendant of Jan Liebens of Holland. Jan Liebens left to go to London to paint the portrait of the King, some time in the 1600's. He stayed there, and the talent was passed on each generation. At some time the name was slightly changed to Livens.
Henry Livens had 4 living children, Bert, Amie, George and Rosie. Amie joined a R.C. Convent at Finchley and became the "Painting Nun". She painted The Last (showing 500 of 913 characters). |
