This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Born in Delaware, Ohio, Howard Little became a realist painter of California redwoods, Palm Springs area desert landscapes, and coastal scenes near La Jolla.

Little studied art and engineering at Ohio State University, and in 1913 moved to Denver where he became a serious painter. In 1921, he moved to Chula Vista, California and ran a chicken ranch and did commercial illustration as well as fine art painting. In the 1940s, he taught art in the San Diego County schools, and he was a member of the San Diego Art Guild.

Dioramas by Little are in the San Diego Museum of Natural History.
