| | Born in San Diego, CA in 1892. Lewis moved with her family to San Francisco about 1900. She studied with Wm M. Chase in Carmel in summer 1914, at the CSFA and CCAC. A long-time resident of San Francisco, she worked there as a route clerk for Western Union. She froze to death on March 13, 1944 when she became lost in a snow storm while hiking in the Sierra Nevada.
