| | Born in Rich Hill, MO on Aug. 16, 1893. Due to ill health, Laudermilk moved to southern California in 1921. Prior to his move he had been a chemist. Turning to art, he studied at the Otis Art Institute and worked as an artist from 1923-34. After recovering his health, he was a research associate in geochemistry at Pomona College. He died in Los Angeles on Jan. 21, 1956.
