Joan Marron-LaRue, whose impressionist paintings include landscapes, harbor scenes, and florals, was born in Custer, Oklahoma and grew up in Clinton, Oklahoma. She earned a BA from the University of Oklahoma in Norman: Her work, which also includes murals, reflects her residencies in Oklahoma and Arizona and her wide travels to places such as Russia, Italy, Nepal, and throughout the United States. In California, she has painted with the California Art Club and exhibited plein-air paintings.
