Kathleen Loe was born in southern Louisiana in 1953, but was raised in Jonesburg in the northern part of the state. Her mother was a chemistry teacher, her father was a forester; both Catholics, which religion had a great influence on her work. She got a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Louisiana State University in 1974. She moved to New York City a year later and earned her Master of Fine Arts from Queens College in 1978.
Loe is by no means a simple landscape artist. Her canvases evoke (showing 500 of 842 characters). |
