This biography from the Archives of AskART:

The following is from Peter Kostoulakos, AOA, NEAA:  Fine Art Consultant,

Lars Peter Laybourne-Jensen (1883-?)

Lars Peter Laybourne-Jensen, painter and sculptor, was born in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1883 and, although his death date is a mystery, he was living in Roselle Park, New Jersey in 1926.  Not much is known about him or his work but we do know he studied art at the Danish Academy in Denmark and that he was a member of the Society of Independent Artists in New York City, and the Salons of America.  The Society of Independent Artists was established in 1917 and they held annual exhibitions without a jury or prizes until 1944.  One can speculate that Laybourne-Jensen was one of the over 6,800 artists that exhibited with them during its 27 years of operation. The Salons of America was established in 1922 as a result of disagreement among the officers of the Society of Independent Artists.  They organized and held “No-Jury” exhibitions until 1936.

All of the reference books had Laybourne with an “e” at the end except for Who Was Who in American Art, which simply had Laybourn without the “e” (The Salons of America, 1922-1936 by Clark S. Marlor).  Another discrepancy was in the date of birth: Fielding states that he was born in 1888 and all the other references have 1883 as his birth date.
