Born in Taichung. Liao Chi-chun graduated from Taipei Normal School in 1922, and then studied in Japan at Tokyo Fine Arts School. While in Japan, Liao was strongly influenced by contemporary developments in Western art.
Liao was a co-founder of both the Ruddy Island Association and the Taiyang Fine Arts Association. He was also an art professor at National Taiwan Normal University until his retirement in 1973.
In 1957, he encouraged his students to form the Fifth Moon Group in Tai (showing 500 of 1060 characters). |
