This biography from the Archives of AskART:

A lifelong Utah resident, Liz Lemon Swindle studied fine arts at Utah State University, and then worked for several years as set designer and painter for Osmond Studios.

She married Jon Swindle, and to allow her flexibility with her growing family, she began concentrating on her oil painting.  She studied with wildlife artist Nancy Glazier in the early 1980s, and soon exhibited her own wildlife paintings at galleries in the central and western United States.

In October of 1988, she won the Founder's Favorite Award at the National Arts for the Parks competition for her children's portrait, concentrating on portraiture from then on.  In the early 1990s, she had turned to religious subjects, expressing her faith through her art.

In 1997 a solo show of her Christian art traveled nationwide, and she is working on documenting the human events in the life of Christ in a series of paintings.
