| Born in Denmark on Sept. 24, 1892. Lenshaw was apprenticed to a local artist at age 14 and studied art in his native land for ten years. He was also a skilled violinist and earned his living as such in Denmark, Norway, and Germany. Coming via Brazil, he immigrated to San Francisco in 1921. His first job was applying gold leaf to the interior of the Fox Theater in Oakland. He furthered his art training at the local ASL while painting landscapes of northern California.
