Mell Lazarus (born May 3, 1927) is a cartoonist and creator of two comic strips, Miss Peach (1957-2002) and Momma (1970-present).
Early in his career he was an apprentice cartoonist working for Al Capp and his brother Elliott Caplin at the Capp family-owned Toby Press, which published Al Capp's Shmoo Comics, among other titles. He is the author of two novels, The Boss Is Crazy, Too (inspired in part by his experiences with Capp) and The Neighborhood Watch (showing 500 of 1132 characters). |
