Michael Lenson (1903-1971) has gained widespread recognition as one of America's most important realist painters.
Born in Russia, Lenson emigrated to America in 1911. While a student at the National Academy of Design in 1928, he won the coveted $10,000 Chaloner Paris Prize which paid for four years of study in London (Slade School of Art), Paris (Academie des B (showing 500 of 6001 characters). |
