The following, submitted July 2004, is from the artist:
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Mira Lehr studied art history at Vassar College, and studied painting in New York with Zoltan Hecht, and later with James Brooks, Robert Motherwell, and James Billmyer and Nieves Marshaleck Billmyer.
After moving to Miami, Florida in the 1960s, Lehr became co-founder of the Continuum Gallery, the first all women art co-op in the Southeast. Greatly influenced by the teachings of Hans Hofmann, her wo (showing 500 of 7415 characters). |
