| | Born in Hoboken, NJ on June 6, 1854. By the 1870s Lange had settled in San Francisco where, in association with Ernest W. Newth, he produced stereo views. In 1883-86 he had a gallery at 1023 Market Street and in 1895 at 109 Montgomery. In his leisure he painted landscapes; his photography included views of San Francisco, architectural, landscape and mining scenes. Lange died in Berkeley, CA on Dec. 9, 1913. Exh: Mechanics' Inst.
