| | Born in Salamanca, NY on April 3, 1888. Litchfield had moved to California by 1932 and had settled in San Leandro. He worked as a graphic illustrator for United Air Lines for 19 years and for many years for the Smithsonian Institution. He settled in Santa Cruz, CA in 1958 and remained until his demise on May 31, 1971.
