| Born in New Gloucester, ME on Sept. 3, 1836. Sara Plummer graduated from Worcester (MA) Normal School in 1870. She worked in New York as an artist and teacher before moving to California about 1875. Santa Barbara was her home until 1880 when she married John Lemmon and settled in Oakland where she remained. With her botanist husband, she explored the Pacific Coast and the Rockies in search of plants which became her painting forte. Her artistic activities included: superintendent of the Ca (showing 500 of 1061 characters). |
