The following biographical information has been provided by Steven Leavitt about Steven Leavitt, the artist:

Since the mid 1980's my work has been non-representational. Work has been developed both in miniature drawing and oil painting. I have been strongly influenced by ethnic art and crafts from around
the world both past and present.

My art education started in grammar school. By the fourth grade I could identify all the impressionists and create Mondrian design. I received a BFA from the school of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1981.

Steven Leavitt was born in Chicago in 1956 and is painting and drawing in Chicago.
