Born in 1959, Susan remembers her first introduction to the art world through a gift of oil pastels received in celebration of her seventh birthday. Shortly thereafter she received a First Prize award in a grade school competition for a drawing made with foil. These early experiences led her to participate in both drawing and painting lessons during her middle school years at the Wortendyke Station studio and gallery in her hometown of Midland Park, New Jersey.
