The artist finds his subject matter in the serene beauty of his Colorado home where there is abundant wildlife and seemingly endless landscape vistas. Self-taught in pastels, oils and watercolors, he painted from what seemed to be an irrepressible creative talent. As a young man, he began painting by reading "how-to-do-it" art books and also by researching the methods of artists he admired.
A native of Monte Vista, Lockhart earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree at Emporia State University (showing 500 of 2736 characters). |
