This biography from the Archives of AskART:
The following was submitted by Cindy Vanderpool, the artist's niece:

He studied in Paris where he learned the painting techniques of Impressionism.  His delicate painting style has been compared to Pierre-Auguste Renoir.  He has had a fascination for depicting landscapes and interior views.

He was born in Lincoln, Nebraska and graduated from University of Nebraska-Lincoln.  He always said "I have always wanted to be an artist, I can't even remember wanting to be anything else." He is a wonderful man.  Very caring and compassionate.  As a little girl, I remember him coming to visit us in Colorado, and having my grandmother (his mother) come visit him in Paris.  He is also a wonderful cook, hosting French dinner parties in Lincoln, Nebraska every summer of my youth, until Grandma passed away in 1999.

I will always refer to him as my favorite uncle, and am reminded of him everyday as I see his work on the walls of my home.
