Known for: Welcome to Hollis Taggart Galleries, specialists in fine American art of the 19th and 20th centuries.
For more than twenty-five years, Hollis Taggart Galleries has specialized in fine American art, particularly that of the 19th Century, and early modern period and Post-War art. In twentieth-century art, movements including the Ashcan group, Stieglitz Circle modernism, Abstract Expressionism, and Minimalism are represented by the gallery.
We have been committed to exhibiting, studying, and placing notable paintings and sculpture. We welcome inquiries from collectors, consignors, scholars, and the public.
We are pleased to announce the completion of the Daniel Garber Catalogue Raisonné. This richly illustrated two-volume set is the definitive compilation of the artist's entire oeuvre.
We are also sponsoring the Frederick Carl Frieseke Catalogue Raisonné
project.
The gallery is located on the Upper East Side’s Museum Mile, just across the street from the Whitney Museum of American Art.
Other Features: The gallery advises private collectors, corporations, and museums on acquisitions. Hollis Taggart Galleries welcomes all inquiries from collectors who may wish to sell or consign works of art or estates. The gallery can provide appraisal services as well.
