Known for: An extensive modern collection, featuring the estates of Clinton Adams, Herbert Bayer, Paul Burlin, Raymond Jonson, and William Lumpkins, as well as work by many other important American Modernists, such as Emil Bisttram and Jan Matulka.
Significant historic collections include extensive holdings of 17th-19th century Spanish Colonial paintings and objects, 18th and 19th century New Mexican Bultos and Cristos, Russian icons, Pre-Columbian and Native American ceramics and textiles, and European and North American works from the 17th-20th centuries.
Exhibitions include the annual "Art of Devotion" - one of the most extensive exhibitions of public and private devotional art in the country, and special exhibitions of American Modernism.
