| Alexander Aramburo Maldonado was born in Mazatlan, Mexico on December 17, 1901. Maldonado moved to San Francisco in 1911. He worked in the shipyards before becoming a professional boxer and fighting under the name Frankie Baker. A self-taught artist, he drew his first picture in 1961 and took up painting. A fan of science fiction and astronomy, he painted a bright, futuristic world that included cityscapes and modernistic buildings. He died in San Francisco, CA on February 10, 1989.
