A painter and craftsman, Alexis Many was primarily a resident of Washington DC where from 1901 to 1936, he was a teacher at McKinley High School. He spent many summers in Laguna, Beach, California, and exhibited with the California Art Club.
In Washington, he was a member of the Washington Art Club, the Art Students League, and the Society of Washington Artists, and exhibited at the Corcoran Gallery Biennials of 1212, 1923 and 1930.
