Alice Iwanaga was born June 25, 1926 in Hawaii and moved to Kansas City in 1946, graduating from the Kansas City Art Institute in 1950 with a diploma in Fashion Illustration. After marrying in 1954, she and her family resided in Wichita and Des Moines before settling in the Turner area of Kansas City, Kansas.

She was a retail advertising artist from January 1950 to October 1991 and drew fashion artwork for Innes, Younkers, Rothschilds, Harzfelds and the Jones Store. She also drew the program cover artwork for the Kansas City Royals' fashion shows from 1979 through 1982.  Her interests included American History, KU Basketball, classical music, theater, ballet, gardening and reading.  Her earliest paintings are signed A. Iwanaga.

Alice Kazue McOsker died at age 76 on Sunday, May 25, 2003 from complications of a ruptured brain aneurysm at Delmar Gardens, Lenexa, Kansas.
