| Alyse Tyson Maris was born in Brooklyn, NY on Aug. 2, 1891. Alyse was the wife of W. R. Maris. She studied in Paris at Académie de la Grande Chaumiére. By the early 1930s she had moved to San Francisco and was an employee of the Public Works of Art Project. She died in Washington, DC on Jan. 3, 1988.
