Biography from AskART:
| Painter of the natural world in a representational style, Americo Bartholomew Makk was born in Brazil to parents, Americo and Eva Makk who became well-known artists.
He showed early art talent, exhibiting by age five and was called "the little Picasso" for his then cubist-style works. He graduated from high school in New York City and then from the University of Hawaii with a degree in psychology. His parents were his primary influences in taking up a brush, although they never pressured him to become an artist.
He began exhibiting with his parents in 1975, and continued touring the country showing the family paintings. |
