This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| Growing up in Chicago, Barbara McKee left in 1970 and attended college at the University of Denver and then went to art school in San Francisco. She also studied with Arizona artist Matt Smith.
She traveled widely around the country until she discovered Madison Valley in Montana where she found the landscape with light and change of season that seemed right for her plein-air style.
In August, 1999, a special exhibition of her work was held at Horizon Fine Art in Jackson, Wyoming.
McKee died September 10, 2002 from injuries in an automobile accident. |
