Born Hiawatha, June 12, 1912; died Lake Lotawana, MO, July 7, 1998. Illustrator. Painter, specialized in birds. Was a pupil of Thomas Hart Benton at the Kansas City Art Institute. He illustrated juvenile stories written by his brother. Offset Lithography, Inc judged one of the books he illustrated, Rosy, Nose, (1946) one of the outstanding juvenile books of 1946.
A resident of Lake Lotawana, MO, he specialized in paintings of meadowlarks, mallards, and (showing 500 of 1801 characters). |
