| Born in Hiawatha, KS on June 24, 1883. May studied at the PAFA, AIC under Lorado Taft, and with Wm M. Chase and Charles Grafly. She was active as an artist in Santa Ana from 1908, joined the art faculty at UC in 1921, and after 1924 managed an orange ranch. She was the author and illustrator of Buccaneer's Gold (1935) and Cuentos de California (1937) plus several books of poetry. May died in Los Angeles on Aug. 7, 1959. Exh: Calif.
