This biography from the Archives of AskART:
| Known for his Fractured Light series of pastel paintings, he creates paintings that give the viewer a variety of experiences in light and exposure. These works resulted from his accidentally taking a role of film twice, giving double exposures that intrigued him, so he began pastel paintings with overlapping geometric forms.
He studied at the Boston Museum School of the Fine Arts and completed his master's degree at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California. Until 1980 when he retired, he was professor of art at Ventura College in California, and then he established a studio in Olympia, Washington. |
