This biography from the Archives of AskART:
Known for public installations dealing with gun violence, Bradley McCallum works with collaborator, Jacqueline Tarry, to create works that often arouse controversy. "Witness, Perspectives on Police Violence," was installed in front of the U.S. Courthouse in Lower Manhattan in January, 2001, but were forced by police to move it to a nearby public plaza.

The piece was inspired by the 1997 police torture of Abner Louima by the New York City police.
