| Caroline Sumner McClure was born in St Louis, MO on June 16, 1875. McClure studied with Lorado Taft and Hermon MacNeil. She created the dome of the Missouri Bldg at the Louisiana Purchase Expo in 1904. After settling on the Monterey Peninsula in 1939, she established a home in Carmel where she remained until her death on Nov. 27, 1959.
