Biography from Trailside Galleries:
Danny McCaw is the youngest son of American expressionist Dan McCaw. He began drawing and painting at an early age, and his youthful images soon developed into mature, sensitive individual statements. His admiration for traditional art and its disciplines has been the foundation of his own art. His appreciation for the freedom, exploration and discovery of the Expressionists has shown him the importance of individuality and creativity.

He observes, “Every artist is on their individual journey. Mine is that of exploration and self-discovery. My goal is to be able to take the things that move me and express them in my own voice, to give those things my emotion, my passion and my individuality."

In addition to the constant guidance of his father, Danny McCaw has studied art at El Camino College, the Scottsdale Artists School and with figurative painter, Steve Huston. In 2002 the Scottsdale Artists School awarded McCaw the Wright Foundation Scholarship.

"Southwest Art" magazine has profiled Danny McCaw in their Emerging Artist section, and in February 2005, he was a featured artist in the exhibition, “Emerging Artist ‘05”, presented by "Art and Antiques" magazine.

McCaw's search for his own individuality is of utmost importance to him. He strives to create art that is full of honesty and to enrich his work by his inquisitive nature. His goal is to find his own voice and to create lasting art.

Biography from Morris & Whiteside Galleries:
Danny McCaw, the youngest son of the well known American Expressionist Dan McCaw, began drawing and painting at an early age.  Growing up in an enviroment where artistic expression was not only encouraged, but nurtured allowed Danny to quickly develop a maturity to his artwork that was lacking in other young artists. However, being constantly surrounded by painters, poets and photographers made Danny even more determined to develop an individual style of his own that would set him apart from the other members of his family.

Attending the El Camino College, the Scottsdale Artists School, and studying with the well known figurative painter Steve Huston, Danny developed a method of painting that has since become his signature.  Favoring dark colors that allow for dramatic lighting, Danny paints with an emotion that the viewer can see long after the paint has dried.  Working in a spontaneous manner that allows for more "give and take", McCaw works with his paintings over long periods of time, enjoying the struggle it takes to create a masterpiece.

Danny has been profiled in Southwest Art and was awarded the Wright Foundation Scholorship to the Scottsdale Artists School in 2002.
