| Los Angeles native Daniel Joseph Martinez is known for art of social commentary. He works in conceptual, installation, public, performance and multimedia art.
Martinez's honors include three National Endowment for the Arts grants, as well as exhibitions at the Venice Biennale and the Whitney Museum of American Art. Martinez served as the United States Curator for the 1999 Mexican Biennale.
Daniel Joseph Martinez is an Associate Professor of Art at the University of California, Irvine.
