| Born in San Francisco, California on June 8, 1913, the son of artists Constance and Spencer Macky. Raised in an artistic milieu, Donald Macky was exposed to art at an early age. After his art studies at the California School of Fine Arts under Stackpole, he was commissioned to design the sculptured gates at the Golden Gate International Exposition of 1939. Following the exposition, he did very little sculpture due to his architectural commissions. He later was chief architec (showing 500 of 860 characters). |
