A landscape painter, Dorothy Morlan was born in Irvington, Indiana and lived in Indianapolis and Philadelphia. She studied in Indianapolis at the Herron Art Institute with William Forsyth and Otto Stark and at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.
