Drew Mayerson was born in Hollywood, California in 1954 and now lives in Westlake Village. He studied geology at the University of California at Los Angeles and upon graduating took a job search for oil in the wilderness of Idaho, Nevada, North Dakota and Wyoming. His art reflects his experiences as a geologist and his heritage as a native Californian.
He paints in oils and pastels plein-aire. "Painting and geology are very similar," says Mayerson. Both are interpretive and the audience (showing 500 of 1005 characters). |
