| | Edgar Duke McClue was born in West Virginia on April 8, 1912. McClue settled in Los Angeles in 1920. He worked as a commercial artist until the 1930s and then was a deputy sheriff for Los Angeles County for 30 years. He died there on June 12, 1974. | Source:
