| Mrs. Edith (LaFever) Minnie, a lady who became well known for her exquisite hand-painted china, was born in 1869, the daughter of George and Margaret (Howard) LaFever of Eaton Rapids, Michigan. She was one of a number of the ladies of the city to surround Mrs. "Zeffie" Osborn and take advantage of the lessons that she gave in oil painting and china painting. Miss Edith seems to have been content to paint and exhibit her work locally; for a number of years she entered her work in the city fair an (showing 500 of 2859 characters). |
