| Monath moved from her native Austria to Paris in 1930 to study art in a
city artistically vibrant with such talents as Picasso, Braque and
Leger. The legendary Leger took Monath under his wing. Her
work is in the collections of the British Museum, the United
Nations Headquarters, Princeton University, the New Jersey State
Museum, and others. Monath studied at the Academy of Fine and
Applied Art in Vienna, and the Graphische Lehr und
Versuchsanstalt, also in Vienna. She studied with Fernand Leger
and Amadee Ozenfant in Paris, and with Moses Soyer in New York City.
