Estelle Ream Manon Armstrong, painter and educator, was born in Lincoln, Illinois in 1884.
Mrs. Armstrong studied at the following art institutions: the California School of Design, the Art Institute of Chicago and the Art Students League. Her instructors included American art icons William Merritt Chase, Charles Hawthorne and Henry Bayley Snell. She also received training in Europe, working with instructors in Florence, Rome, Venice, Holland and Paris.
