The painting style of Exene Meyersham is very closely related to the last, Modernist phase of Boston School Impressionism. Her strict and precise paint application shows a very talented student of RISD and the SMFA, Boston. She studied with Charles Hawthorne, but seems to be more distinctly influenced by his wife, Marion Campbell Hawthorne.
