| | Fred Werner Methner was born in Berlin, Germany on June 17, 1907. Methner immigrated to NYC in 1922 and two years later settled in San Francisco. He then studied at Heald's Business College and abandoned clerical work to become an apprentice at Traung Lithograph Company. He later worked for Schmidt and Roesch Lithographers until retirement in 1967. He was a resident of San Francisco until his demise on Sept. 17, 1991.
