| Frederick F. Meiers was born in El Paso, TX in 1916. Meiers arrived in California in 1925. He grew up in San Diego and was educated at San Diego State College and Claremont Graduate School. A pupil of Millard Sheets, he painted regionalist scenes during the 1930s and 1940s. After serving in the Navy during WWII, he taught painting at Long Beach City College.
