Born in East Orange, New Jersey, Gerald McConnell is both an illustrator and assemblage artist who has won numerous commissions and awards. His work covers a wide range of styles and applications.
He was a student at the Art Students League of Frank Reilly and also apprenticed under noted illustrator Dean Cornwell.
Starting with Pocket Books in 1953, McConnell focused on Western
covers for most of the major paperback publishers. When he began making
