A resident of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin in Door County, landscapist
Gerhard Miller has had a long career of depicting the beauty of the
scenery that is his natural environment.
He was the son of
Adolph and Molly Miller of Sturgeon Bay and was educated at the
University of Wisconsin. He began painting as a youngster when he was
paralyzed from polio, a condition he partially overcame with exercise.
He first used oil paint but in 1938 changed to watercolor, in part due
to the influence (showing 500 of 1099 characters). |
