Biography from Ella Walton Richardson Fine Art:
Gloria Mani is greatly inspired by the gentle quiet of the countryside and gardens throughout the world and is often found painting landscapes in plein air. In addition to her passion for landscapes, Gloria has been painting and drawing nudes for over forty years.

Mani's goal when painting is to have work that is refreshing with a style and medium unique to its subject matter. According to Howard Farber, Art Critic for "Art Speak", "Gloria paints poetic landscapes and portraits with hues that capture a unique sense of light and life."

Among her many awards and professional recognitions is Mani's listing as "one of the most influential people in the Arts in Columbus, Georgia in the past 100 years"‚ by the Columbus Ledger Enquirer. In 1990, Gloria received the First Place Art Award at the National League of American Pen Women at the Georgia State Convention.

A major influence in Mani's work was her father, Antonio Mani, a well-known artist and founder of the Columbus School of Art. She also studied with Robert Brackman and Robert Beverly Hale at the Art Student League of New York.

Mani attended the Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, Florida and has participated in numerous workshops including: Wolf Kahn at the Columbus Museum in Columbus, Georgia; John Budicin and Lynn Gertenbach of the Plein Air Painters of America in Fallbrook, California and Bennington, Vermont.

Mani is a Founding Member of Joseph House Gallery and maintains memberships in: Oil Painter's of America; Columbus Artist Guild; American Institute of Conservation; Society of Gilders; Plein Air Painters of Charleston; and Carmel Art Association.
